Finding your "chill out" lounge on the net
I've really started appreciating Yahoo! Launch's streamline music since starting at SOM. There's nothing like a guaranteed flow of great soothing music while you're working on that freaking accounting problem at 3 in the morning or trying to read through some dense material on why the strategic environment of a certain era had the undesirable consequences.
My study groupmates also enjoy the music and its become quite normal for us to get together and bust through the hw through the late hours of the night, with music streaming from my computer. Pretty cool stuff...
Mid-terms are about a week away. Don't know if mentioned that second-years don't have any exams. So while we're trying to make heads and tails of alpha and beta, most of them will be vacationing during that time period....those bastards!!
I had an excellent meeting with my Thunderbird competition teammates. We spent a few hours hustling through the ideas and came out with what promises to be some pretty cool stuff I think. First time I've worked with a bunch of doctors and engineer on any project. As I sat through the meeting with the doctors arguing over the last details and the engineer trying to figure out some of the technicalities of the product we're trying to pitch, I couldn't help but take a moment to myself and enjoy the whole thing -- this is what MBA school is all about -- working with people from all walks of life with a range of decision-making preferences and what they consider "obvious." It's definitely tough to work with such people at times, but I feel that somehow I'm better of learning how to do that in MBA school versus whatever I end up doing afterwords.
Well back to hw now and getting my resume ready for tomorrow's submission deadline....and of course mid-term preps!!
